In an article from the journal Pediatrics, published on-line on March 1, 2010, researchers reported on finding that early markers of heart disease were found in obese children (as young as 3 years old), as opposed to healthy weight children.
Published in the April, 2008, issue of the Journal of Pediatrics, an article entitled, The efficacy of a clinic-based behavioral nutrition intervention emphasizing a DASH-type diet for adolescents with elevated blood pressure, showed that teens who followed the DASH diet were able to lower their blood pressure, and improve their diets.
